What I love about my BERNINA!

  • My 440 allows me to quilt my quilts highly efficiently.
  • Immediate stopping and starting, accurate stitching to the finest point, no extra stitches after foot pedal released.
  • Stitch length, width and needle position held, while interchanging any stitch program on the machine. Very clever – a huge time saver.
  • Needle up and down on the foot pedal and on the front of the machine at eye level, to draw up the bobbin thread so efficient.
  • Metal bobbin case and bobbins give my work perfect bobbin tension every time. So easy to adjust for different weight threads.
  • Bobbin never jumps out of tension even at highest speeds of free motion quilting. Perfect stitching every time.
  • Adjustable foot pressure a treasure, gives me complete control over difficult fabrics.
  • The 1/4in foot is a perfect 1/4in seam.
  • The open toe walking foot feeds even the highest loft and largest quilts through perfectly, never dragging or puckering, giving me flat perfect machine quilting.
  • Knee lift allows my hands to stay on the work.
  • Multi spool holder holds up to 14 reels of thread making threading a dream with the needle threader.
  • The bobbin winder has speed control for even distribution of thread on the metal bobbin.
  • The accessory holder (Barbie wardrobe as we affectionately call it) holds all accessories together and fits on the back of the machine.
  • I can get a foot for any sewing need I may have.
  • Straight stitch plate gives me perfect stitching for piecing, quilting with walking foot and free motion quilting.
  • Double blanket stitch looks like stunning hand stitching.
