Music, awards, 52 quilts and donations to Operation Homefront

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Patchwork Plus Quilt Shop, a BERNINA Dealer in Marcellus, New York, is hosting the Quilted In Honor Traveling Exhibit on Friday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m. This special event, being held at the Dealer located at 2532 Route 20, will give the community a chance to admire 52 quilts made by quilters from the United States and Canada. Quilted In Honor is a nonprofit organization which provides financial support to families of service members and Wounded Warriors, and is intended to harness the collective power of the quilting industry to support troops. Quilting celebrities Ricky Tims, Eleanor Burns, Alex Anderson and local quilter, Joan Ford are among the designers who donated patterns to the Quilted In Honor project. While the Quilted In Honor Traveling Exhibit will be housed at Patchwork Plus Quilt Shop until mid-October, it is the last stop on the tour. The event is free.

Island Batik, lead sponsor of Quilted In Honor and manufacturer, importer and distributor of cotton from Indonesia, will sell fabrics and provide a portion of the proceeds to Operation Homefront. The company will auction off the Quilted In Honor quilts at the end of October. For more information visit, www.islandbatik.com.
