Embroider and sew like a pro! - For some time now, they've been called 'sewing systems' or 'sewing computers', rather than simply 'sewing machines'. With the new Artista range, Bernina introduces the next generation of high-tech sewing computers.

The Artista 630 and Artista 640 sewing, embroidery and quilting artists are highly versatile, easy to operate, and come equipped with a large colour touchscreen. They feature a wealth of utility and decorative stitches, as well as built-in embroidery designs. A free-hand system vastly simplifies the sewing process, allowing you to simultaneously lift the presser foot and drop the feed-dog, which leaves your hands free to guide the fabric. The optionally available embroidery module with built-in software makes both models masters of the art of embroidery.

The Artista 640 boasts more stitch patterns, embroidery designs and alphabets than its little sister. What's more, it features built-in stitch-setting recommendations and animated stitch display. The Artista 630 offers 480 decorative stitches up to a maximum width of 5.5 mm; with the Artista 640, a whopping 570 stitch patterns up to 9 mm are possible. A USB port also comes as standard. A Start/Stop button and speed regulator allow relaxed precision sewing without having to use the foot control. Optionally available is the patented Bernina Stitch Regulator for straight and zigzag stitches, which guarantees uniform stitch lengths even at different speeds. This makes quilting much easier, and thread-painting is a breeze when embroidering.
