Caroline Sharkey

Caroline Sharkey loves nothing more than inspiring students
in her workshops to play outside the lines, relax the rules and
see the satisfaction in their work and on their faces. She is an
award-winning quilter that has a passion to raise the profile
of textile art and quilting.

Being Artist in Residence at Uluru each year is a highlight for
this prolific artist and she always takes her Bernina machine
with her to sew up a storm in the Red Centre. Caroline’s
original fibre art works are represented in business, corporate
and numerous private collections in Australia and overseas.

«My Aurora 440 acts as my ‘paint brush’ and allows me to thread paint onto all fabric surfaces»

What I Love about my BERNINA!

  • My Aurora 440 acts as my ‘paint brush’ and allows me to thread paint onto all fabric surfaces.
  • Needle up and down plus knee lift functions keep my hands free to add all the fabric textures onto my work.
  • The Aurora’s new separate bobbin winder enables me to fill empty bobbins without interrupting my sewing, embroidery or quilting.
  • The adjustable foot pressure gives me more support when stitching over many layers of fabric.
  • The closed toe darning foot glides across the fabric and gives me complete freedom to create my art quilts.
  • I love the large perspex table and it is a must for extra work space and stability of my work.
  • My Aurora is a work-horse and keeps me producing art 24/7!
