Mimi started sewing at 12 years old. Her aunt was a seamstress and as a child she would spend hours in her studio using her scraps to make Barbie clothes; her dad noticed she was obsessed and bought Mimi the first real sewing machine. Shortly after she got her machine Mimi offered to make her mother a dress for an event she was attending and although the neckline was crooked and the hem was uneven and the fit was less then flattering she wore it anyway and Mimi knew that she would be sewing for the rest of my life.
Her obsession with creating has afforded her the opportunity to teach, debut her first ready-to-wear collection in 2010, and has grown her blog from a personal diary to a full-time job and now a wonderful opportunity to work with BERNINA. Mimi currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and children and she is working on creating her own apparel pattern collection.
In 2012 Mimi hosted the 1st Annual "Meet, Shop + Learn" in Los Angeles, CA where women gathered from all parts of the US to meet me and spend a full day asking questions, learning about fitting and measurements and then a shopping tour of the Los Angeles Fashion District. The event was complete success and Mimi have already begun preparation for the 2nd Annual "Sewing, Fashion + Style" Workshop 2013.
