Compatibility Problems with DesignWorks and Windows 10 Creators Update
Status Update, July 2017
DesignWorks is not compatible with Windows 10 Creators Update due to vast changes Microsoft has made. The new Windows 10 Creators Update has been available since April 11, 2017. It is being rolled out in stages, so not everyone has got the update yet. If your computer is set to the standard settings you will get it installed automatically and lose the ability to use DesignWorks. The program drawings.exe crashes thus DesignWorks won’t run.
To restore or run DesignWorks on Windows 10 computers you have the following options:
BERNINA apologizes for any inconvenience this currently causes. First evaluations have shown that the root cause of this technical software incompatibility with the latest Windows 10 OS revision is very complex and cannot be solved through an isolated hotfix. We are continuing to investigate potential solutions with highest priority and will provide further information by the end of September 2017.
DesignWorks is further on compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
All DesignWorks Tools can still be used and DesignWorks files of OESD (.exp) are still available.
