BERNINA DEALER TO HOST CLASSES BY NANCY BEDNAR ON APRIL 22 IN LOCKPORT, ILLINOIS

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Thimbles, a BERNINA Dealer in Lockport, Ill., is hosting two classes about sergers with educator and author Nancy Bednar on Monday, April 22. Ms. Bednar will teach two different classes:

• “Serger Boot Camp,” from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A lecture class designed for both serger and non-serger owners, participants will discover how the loopers interact with the needles to create serger-unique stitch formations, which stitches are best for any sewing situation and how to rip a serged seam, as well as usage of the right needles, threads and notions. There is a $20 fee.
• “I Didn’t Know a Serger Could Do That!” from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. A hands-on class, participants will travel between pre-threaded serger stations to learn some of the many practical and decorative techniques that only a serger can provide. Discover how to create serger “lace,” flat lock weave, decorative chain stitching, blanket stitch and more. There is a $30 fee and an additional $20 kit fee.

Nancy Bednar is a sewing author and educator delivering lectures and hands-on classes to consumers and interested individuals across the country.  Ms. Bednar specializes in garment and serger classes, and creative embellishment sewing machine techniques.
