The events will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Naperville Marriott, 1801 N. Naper Blvd in Naperville, Ill. Designer Tula Pink, BERNINA Educator Christine Gist and BERNINA Ambassador Heather Lofstrom will lead attendees through six projects using embroidery and BERNINA accessories. Additionally, all attendees will have a chance to win a 2015 BERNINA 350 Special Edition that features a faceplate designed by Tula Pink.
The cost for Sewapalooza is $299.99 and includes all project materials, the use of BERNINA’s next generation 7 Series machines, and lunch. Special room rates at the Naperville Marriott are also available. Tula Pink graduated from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She worked as an exhibit designer for museums in Los Angeles and then became involved in the music industry. She later moved east to focus on fabric design and sewing, where she designed her first collection in her living room. Today, Tula works for Free Spirit Fabrics.
BERNINA Educator Christine Gist of Tucson, Ariz. is an experimental, mixed media sewist who brings her imaginative ideas to life by using her BERNINA sewing machine tools. Gist worked and taught at a BERNINA Dealer in Florida and now works at a BERNINA Dealer in Tucson.
Heather Lofstrum is a BERNINA Ambassador, BERNINA event team member, and the owner of Heather’s Wild Rags, which creates hand-dyed silk scarves for men and women. Heather has been asked to create a few of her Urban Girl Scarves for the wives on the cable TV series Duck Dynasty.
