BERNINA OPENING NEW CREATIVE CENTER IN AURORA, ILLINOIS
Located next to BERNINA of America headquarters, the center will host hands-on sewing, embroidery and quilting sessions starting April 18
BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that it is opening a new 4,500-square-foot Creative Center next to its corporate headquarters for hands-on public education sessions and training opportunities for BERNINA Dealers. The BERNINA Creative Center, 3682 Unit B Prairie Lake Court in Aurora, consists of three rooms with enough space to hold up to 50 attendees and BERNINA machines. The Center’s first education session, BERNINA Feet Retreat on April 18, is already sold out. However, other sessions are scheduled for May, September and December. All events at the new BERNINA Creative Center are designed to help consumers and Dealers advance their sewing, quilting and embroidering skills.
“The opening of the Creative Center is the latest example of BERNINA’s commitment to enriching the experiences of anyone interested in sewing, embroidery and quilting,” said Paul Ashworth, President of BERNINA of America. “Our education sessions are designed to improve stitching techniques, and to bring together people who share a passion for all things sewing.”
The first public education session, BERNINA Feet Retreat, will present two full days of inspiring applications for more than 20 different BERNINA presser feet and accessories, including circular embroidery and binder attachments, and gathering/ruffling, pintuck and couching feet. Presser feet hold fabric flat as it is fed through the sewing machine and stitched, allowing for faster and more professional-looking results. In addition to the sold-out session on April 18, BERNINA Feet Retreats are scheduled for September 5 and September 8. Registration will open on July 5.
Another multiday education session, the BERNINA Software Extravaganza, will take place on May 17 and December 6. Students will be guided by an expert team of BERNINA Educators as they learn to navigate the embroidery software, work with automatic and manual digitizing tools, and explore the creative fill functions found in BERNINA Embroidery Software 6. The class also includes hands-on time with BERNINA’s new DesignWorks Software Suite, which features CutWork to cut shapes, patterns and designs from multiple layers of fabric, PaintWork for applying pen drawings, and CrystalWork for creating crystal appliqué patterns. Online registration for the May 17 BERNINA Software Extravaganza is available at http://www.bernina.com/en-US/Whats-New-2/In-Store-Events.
BERNINA also offers its Dealers training sessions at the Creative Center. The first session was held on February 25 for new BERNINA Dealers, to give them the opportunity to ask questions and work closely with BERNINA’s corporate support team. Dealers are also invited to register for public education sessions.
