BERNINA DEALER LOOKIN FOR VOLUNTEERS TO SEW PILLOWCASES FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITALS ON MARCH 9

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Quilting Possibilities, a BERNINA Dealer in Forked River, N.J., is seeking volunteers to participate in its next quarterly Pillowcase Sew-In on Saturday, March 9 to benefit local children’s hospitals.  The event will take place at Quilting Possibilities, 918 Lacey Road, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  All completed pillowcases will be donated to ConKerr Cancer, an international organization dedicated to providing sick children with cheerful pillowcases to brighten their hospital rooms.

More than 2,300 pillowcases have been donated through Quilting Possibilities in the last two years, and the Dealer expects that the March 9 Sew-In will produce 80 to 100 more using fabric donated by customers and the store.  Quilting Possibilities began hosting Pillowcase Sew-Ins in response to American Patchwork & Quilting’s Million Pillowcase Challenge.  The magazine asked quilters, sewers and crafters to help create and donate 1 million pillowcases to charities throughout America.  For more information about the Million Pillowcase Challenge, which BERNINA sponsors, please visit www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/index.html.

ConKerr Cancer has delivered more than 600,000 pillowcases during the last six years to 250 hospitals throughout the country.
