BERNINA DEALERS SHOWCASE THE 7 SERIES AT THE 2013 SEWING & STITCHERY EXPO

BERNINA of America, the world’s premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Material Girls Quilt Shop, QuiltWorks Northwest, and Sewing Machine Service Co. will be exhibiting BERNINA machines at Pavilion numbers 153 – 158 and 171 – 176 at the 2013 Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Pyallup, Wash.  The three BERNINA Dealers will also offer visitors a simple project of embroidering a hand towel to take home, and provide the BERNINA 780 E (Embroidery) machines for a series of daily hands-on sewing seminars in the BERNINA classroom.  The 2013 Sewing & Stitchery Expo will take place on Thursday, February 28 to Sunday, March 3 at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center, 110 Ninth Avenue SW.

Two new hands-on seminars have been scheduled for the BERNINA sewing classroom.  The classes were created to give young moms and grandmothers a chance to work on projects geared toward children:

• “To the Rescue!  Superhero Cape for Boys and Girls,” led by Dodi Poulsen on Friday, March 1
• “Polkadot Girl’s Dress,” led by Valerie Wood on Sunday, March 3

Additionally, the following hands-on seminars are also scheduled for the BERNINA sewing classroom, where participants can learn a new technique and leave with a finished project.  The seminars include two pre-expo classes on Wednesday, February 27: 

• “Floral Delights,” led by Libby Lehman on Wednesday, February 27
• “Glam Wristlet,” led by Cheryl Kuczek on Wednesday, February 27
• “Finishing Touches for Garments,” led by Ryliss Bod on Thursday, February 28
• “Sheer Ribbon Illusions,” led by Libby Lehman on Thursday, February 28 and Saturday,   March 2
• “Sprocket Pillows,” led by Allison Harris on Saturday, March 2

The BERNINA 780 E is among the new 7 Series line of sewing, quilting and embroidery machines that also features the BERNINA 750 QE (Quilter’s Edition) and the BERNINA 710.  Each 7 Series machine includes an extended freearm area with 10 inches of space to the right of the needle and a practical extension table with ample space to hold larger sewing projects.  The 7 Series is also equipped with a color touchscreen and the integrated BERNINA Dual Feed, which tames hard-to-manage and fine fabrics.  Additional features include a presser foot that automatically lowers, lifts and can cut the thread at the end of a seam or color change, and a semi-automatic needle threader, a one-step buttonhole sewing program and a slide speed control.
