APPLETREE QUILTING CENTER IN COLUMBIA MISSOURI TO HOST SPECIAL EVENTS SEPTEMBER 11 – 15 TO CELEBRATE BECOMING AN AUTHORIZED BERNINA DEALER

Classes by internationally recognized quilter Sylvain Bergeron, and specials and package deals on BERNINA machines will be offered

BERNINA of America, the world’s premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Appletree Quilting Center in Columbia, Mo. is hosting several special events from Thursday, September 11 to Monday, September 15 to celebrate becoming an authorized BERNINA Dealer. Classes by internationally recognized quilter Sylvain Bergeron will be offered September 11 – 12. The Dealer will also offer door prizes, specials and package deals on all BERNINA sewing machines in stock, as well as deep discounts on sewing machine furniture. In addition, Appletree Quilting Center will set up a special window display of quilts from fabric designer Tula Pink and embroidery designs from several other companies. All events will take place at the Dealer, located at 2541 Bernadette Drive.
 
Sylvain Bergeron’s classes include:

  • “Art of Machine Embroidery,” from 10:00 a.m. – noon on September 11.
  • “Best Foot Forward,” from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on September 11, which will focus on BERNINA presser and accessory feet.
  • “Choosing the Perfect Stabilizer for the Job,” from 10:00 a.m. to noon on September 12, which will discuss the different types of embroidery stabilizers.
The cost is $20 per class or all three classes for $52. Registration is required and available by stopping at the Dealer or calling (573)446-2655.
 
Sylvain Bergeron is a self-taught seamster and machine embroidery teacher who began quilting 10 years ago. He creates quilt tops that contain 1.25 million to 3 million stitches, using simple line and color to create complex images. Sylvain was the 2006 recipient of the Master Award for Thread Artistry at the Fall International Quilt Festival in Houston and received the Gold Prize at the 9th Quilt Nihon Exhibition in Tokyo in 2007. He lives in Oswego, Ill.
 
On September 14 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Appletree Quilting Center will host an open house and conduct demonstrations of many of BERNINA’s presser and accessory feet.
