BERNINA DEALER BLAINE’S SEWING MACHINE CENTER TO HOST SEWAPALOOZA FEATURING BETSY CARLSON ON THURSDAY MAY 8 IN WARWICK RHODE ISLAND

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Blaine’s Sewing Machine Center, a BERNINA Dealer in Cranston, R.I., is hosting Sewapalooza, a one-day event that will focus on sewing, embroidery and quilting on Thursday, May 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  BERNINA Educator Betsy Carlson will guide participants through projects that are suitable for  beginning, intermediate and advanced sewing enthusiasts.  The event will take place at the Radisson Hotel Providence Airport, 2081 Post Road, Warwick, R.I.

Betsy Carlson, from Grand Rapids, Mich., has been a BERNINA Educator and BERNINA machine owner for 20 years.  After making her first project, a zippered turtle pillow for pajamas, she was hooked on sewing.  Years later, after a career in public relations and being a stay-at-home mom, Betsy started her own business, Nine Patch Sewing Company.  She was also president of the West Michigan Quilters’ Guild.  As a BERNINA Educator, Betsy enjoys visiting the BERNINA Creative Center in Aurora, Ill., where she continues to learn more about how to use BERNINA machines, accessories and software.
