BERNINA DEALER CHARLTON SEWING CENTER TO HOST SEWAPALOOZA FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 12 AND SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 13 IN CHARLTON MASSACHUSETTS

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Charlton Sewing Center, a BERNINA Dealer in Charlton, Massachusetts, is hosting Sewapalooza, hands-on sewing, embroidery, and quilting workshops on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 12 Stafford Street in Charlton, Massachusetts. BERNINA Educator Betsy Carlson will lead event-goers through a number of unique projects that focus on embroidery and the jumbo hoop, BERNINA’s Software 7 monogram program, BERNINA’s DesignWork software suite, and quilting with BERNINA’s Stitch Regulator, dual feed and walking foot. In addition, Betsy will showcase BERNINA’s quality presser feet and demonstrate overlocker/serger projects using the L 460 and L 220. The event costs $50 for both days and includes lunch, project kits, a goodie bag, and use of BERNINA machines. Tickets are $25 per person, for both days, when a BERNINA owner brings a friend who doesn’t own a BERNINA to the event. And, the event is free to those who buy a BERNINA machine at the event. All event-goers will have an opportunity to be part of a BERNINA 350 Patchwork Edition giveaway. Betsy Carlson will draw the winner on Saturday. A BERNINA Educator and BERNINA owner for 20 years, Betsy Carlson, from Grand Rapids, Mich. began sewing in junior high school, when she made her first project, a zippered turtle pillow for pajamas. After that there was no turning back. She was hooked. Years later, after her career in public relations and being a stay-at-home Mom, Betsy started her own business, Nine Patch Sewing Company, and held the president title for the West Michigan Quilters’ Guild. As a BERNINA educator, Betsy enjoys visiting the BERNINA Creative Center in Aurora, Ill., where she continues to learn more about how to use BERNINA machines, accessories and software. When Betsy’s not sewing or training, she can be found using power tools like a tile saw or chop saw she’s used in remodeling her home.
