BERNINA OF AMERICA ADDS THREE NEW EXPERTS TO WEALLSEW

Andrea Davis, Julie Eilber, and Faith Jones to provide project ideas, patterns and tips

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to introduce three new experts for its WeAllSew blog.  Andrea Davis, Julie Eilber, and Faith Jones will join the community of BERNINA Experts who supply project ideas, patterns, tips and techniques to fuel creativity and enhance a love for sewing. WeAllSew (www.weallsew.com) is a unique online community where sewists and crafters from around the country can share their passion for sewing and creating.

Andrea Davis is a custom patternmaker, tailor, and certified sewing and fit specialist. She began sewing at age 9, first for herself and her family, then professionally. In 2008, Andrea returned to school for tailoring and patternmaking after more than 30 years as a self-taught seamstress. She currently teaches sewing and personalized fitting, offers customized pattern design services, and blogs at Sew-to-Fit about her blissful sewing exploits and occasional misfortunes from behind the scenes of her sewing studio. Her machines include a nearly 30-year-old bernette 234 Serger, a BERNINA 640, and a BERNINA 780. For more information about Andrea Davis, please visit www.sewtofit.com.

“I was thrilled to learn that I was selected as a BERNINA WeAllSew Expert,” said Andrea Davis. “I hope readers are as inspired by what I contribute as I will be creating it.”

Julie Eilber is a writer and garment sewing enthusiast known for recreating designer garments from the 1930s through the 1970s. On her blog, Jet Set Sewing, Julie shares the pleasures and pitfalls of working with vintage patterns, reconstructing Chanel-style jackets, and creating copies of garments by designers such as Charles James, Elsa Schiaparelli, Madame Vionnet, and Claire McCardell. An avid traveler, Julie also gives readers a sneak peek at fabric stores and fashion exhibits around the world. For more information about Julie Eilber, please visit www.JetSetSewing.com.

“I’m so excited that BERNINA has chosen to support my vintage projects by making me a BERNINA Expert,” said Julie Eilber. “I’ve discovered that even if you’re kickin’ it old school, a BERNINA machine can make your life so much easier.”

Faith Jones has been sewing since high school home economics class, but started quilting and blogging in early 2009, shortly after her son was born. Her goal at the time was to make one little quilt, but she soon became hooked. Since then, Faith has explored quilting from fabric design to pattern creation. Her patterns can be found in several publications, including Vintage Quilt Revival:  22 Modern Designs from Classic Blocks; Fons & Porter Scrap Quilts; Love of Quilting; Modern Quilts Unlimited; and Fat Quarterly. She is also an active member of the online quilting community, enjoys sharing tutorials, hosting quilt-a-longs on her blog, Fresh Lemons Quilts, and participating in quilting bees and swaps. For more information about Faith Jones, please visit www.freshlemonsquilts.com.

“I look forward to sharing my designs and passion for quilting on BERNINA’s WeAllSew blog,” said Faith Jones. “A BERNINA is the machine that quilters aspire to work on, and I’m pleased to be a blogging expert for the brand.”
