BERNINA OF AMERICA SPONSORS STARS EVENT AT AUSTIN FASHION WEEK ON APRIL 17
BERNINA will present one designer with a special gift during the event; attendees can also experience the top-of-the-line B 880 machine
BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that it is a sponsor of the STARS event taking place Friday, April 17 at Austin Fashion Week in Austin, Texas. The event will feature collections by eight prominent designers and an opportunity to meet the designers in person. BERNINA will also recognize design excellence by providing one emerging designer with a special gift during the event. In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to experience the BERNINA 880 (B 880) machine and BERNINA’s CutWork and PaintWork design software prior to the runway shows and during intermission. The STARS event will take place in the Austin Music Hall, located at 208 Nueces St. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
“We are very pleased to support an emerging fashion designer with a special gift that will assist them in their future work,” said Amy Gutierrez, Director of Marketing for BERNINA of America. “We also look forward to providing STARS attendees with a chance to experience some of BERNINA’s best design tools, including our top-of-the-line BERNINA 880. The B 880 offers users the ability to personalize their garments and bring creative ideas to life.”
The B 880 is BERNINA’s fastest sewing and embroidery model to-date, with more built-in stitch patterns and embroidery designs to choose than ever before, plus innovative new features like Stitch Designer, Shaping and Color Wheel. It also offers 400 built-in embroidery designs, as well as the ability to create unique embroidery designs and adjust their color before embroidering begins. In addition, the B 880 has a Jumbo Bobbin with 80 percent more thread capacity than standard bobbins. The B 880 is available at authorized BERNINA Dealers nationwide.
CutWork and PaintWork are two components of BERNINA’s DesignWorks Software Suite, which turns any embroidery machine into a multimedia tool. With CutWork, shapes, patterns and designs can be cut from multiple layers of fabric. PaintWork allows the application of pen drawings to fabric and textiles.
The eight designers being featured at STARS are Anthony Ryan Auld of Baton Rouge, La.; Gunnar Detherage of Louisville, Ky.; Daniel Esquivel of Austin; Melissa Fleis of Los Angeles; Michelle Lesniak of Portland, Ore.; Korto Momul of Little Rock, Ark.; Jeffrey Sebelia of Los Angeles; and Amanda Valentine of Nashville, Tenn.
