Fabric Fun 2017 Competition

The BERNINA Fabric Fun Competition gives learners from grade 1 - 12 who have an interest in art, fashion design and sewing, the opportunity to compete nationally, boost their creativity and win significant prizes. 

There are 5 categories to choose from:


1) PRIMARY SCHOOL - GRADES 1-7

FUN WITH A T-SHIRT
Use an affordable purchased T-Shirt in the colour and style of your choice which fits yourself and decorate it as you wish. Make use of textile paint and other washable trimmings as well as machine and hand stitching to decorate the T-Shirt.NO MACHINE EMBRODERY MOTIF WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE T-SHIRT

2) SECONDARY SCHOOL - GRADES 8-12

FUN WITH A STORY BOARD
Create a full colour story board of how you will transform an ordinary T-Shirt and denim jean into a modern and fashionable
outfit.

3) FASHION AND CLOTHING CONSTRUCTION STUDENT COMPETITION

FROM HOMEMAKER TO QUEEN OF HEARTS 
Design and sew an outfit that will transform a homemaker into a Queen of Hearts (NOT THE QUEEN FOUND IN THE DECK OF CARDS
COSTUME) going to a Red Carpet event.

4) MOTHER AND DAUGHTER/SON - GRADES 1-7
Fun decorating and sewing a Child's Hooded Towel Poncho.
Teamed project for a mother and daughter/son - grades 1 - 7. 

5) THREE GENERATIONS HAVING FUN IN MAKING A CREATIVE MEMORY QUILT. 
Team project between grand mother(or adopted grandmother), mother and daughter/son in grades 8 - 12, in creating a creative
memory quilt that can be a wall hanging or a bed warmer. 

Competition closing date August 15, 2017.
