Compatibility Problems with DesignWorks and Windows 10 Creators Update
DesignWorks is not compatible with Windows 10 Creators Update due to vast changes Microsoft has made. The new Windows 10 Creators Update has been available since April 11, 2017. It is being rolled out in stages, so not everyone has got the update yet. If your computer is set to the standard settings you will get it installed automatically and lose the ability to use DesignWorks. The program drawings.exe crashes thus DesignWorks won’t run.
To restore or run DesignWorks on Windows 10 computers you have the following options:
BERNINA apologizes for any inconvenience this currently causes. We were overtaken by this Windows update and are evaluating different options, but please do not expect a fast solution within the next few weeks.

All DesignWorks Tools can still be used and DesignWorks files of OESD (.exp) are still available. CutWork

DesignWorks Software Download
The DesignWorks Software installer download is only for those who already own CutWork Software and are upgrading to DesignWorks Software.
Do not attempt to install the DesignWorks Software installer without first purchasing the License Codes for PaintWork and/or CrystalWork. For questions regarding the License Codes, please contact your local BERNINA Dealer.

Compatibility Problems with Windows 10 Creators Update, Version 1703
The new Microsoft Windows 10 Creators Update has been available since 11 April.
This is to inform you that DesignWorks and the Windows 10 Creators Update are not compatible.
When a design is opened in DesignWorks, the application closes and the following error message is generated:
If you are no longer able to run DesignWorks, we recommend executing the ‘rollback’ function in Windows 10.
This function loads the last version of Windows 10, so that you can once again work with DesignWorks.
If you have not yet installed the update, we recommend postponing installation until further notice.
BERNINA is currently evaluating possible suitable solutions.
