  • Close shoulder seams
  • We recommend a French seam for this. The open edge is "wrapped" in a second seam. For the French seam, place the shoulder seams left side to left side.
  • Sew together at a distance of 4 mm from the cutting edge
  • Iron out the additions
  • Turn over the parts, place the seam in the split, with the right sides lying on top of each other.
  • Stitch the seam 6 mm wide
  • For this, it is best to use the narrow edge foot and move the needle position accordingly.
  • Sew the sleeves with the French seam as well, leaving the side seams open.
  • Close the side and sleeve seams right side to right side, closing the side seam only to the slit mark, leaving it open below.
  • Iron out the additions
  • Double-fold additions at the side seam and slit (first 6, then 8 mm) and iron. Using the narrow edge foot again, make an approx. 5 cm wide seam.
  • Fold over the kimono and sleeves twice and stitch
  • Finally, complete the front edge including the neckline
