BERNINA ANNOUNCES DEALER GRAND OPENING IN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10

BERNINA executives and Mayor Arlene J. Mulder will attend ribbon-cutting at 5:30 p.m.

BERNINA of America, the world’s premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that BERNINA executives, including Hanspeter Ueltschi, fourth generation owner of BERNINA International, will attend the grand opening of Linda Z’s Sewing Center, a BERNINA dealer in Arlington Heights, Ill., on Thursday, November 10. Additionally, Arlington Heights’ mayor Arlene J. Mulder will attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Newly located at 1216 E. Central Road in Arlington Heights, Linda Z’s will also host renowned sewing and quilting educator Kaye England for three days of lectures, demonstrations, a trunk show and hands-on sewing and quilting seminars. Linda Z’s will also offer a BERNINA 215 sewing machine giveaway on grand opening day.

Commenting on the BERNINA grand opening, Linda Zachman, owner of Linda Z’s said, “Sewing has been a passion of mine since I was very young and I have been involved in the sewing business for over 40 years. I am pleased to be partnering with BERNINA at my new location and I am thrilled to share this day with Hanspeter Ueltschi, who is continuing the legacy of the BERNINA brand, which has been providing high-quality sewing, embroidery and quilting machines for over 100 years.”


BERNINA International executives attending the grand opening will include Hanspeter Ueltschi and Claude Dreyer, CEO. Mr. Ueltschi will also autograph sewing machines for customers from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Additionally, BERNINA of America executives in attendance will include Mike Perich, interim president, Tom Justic, interim vice president of sales, Amy Gutierrez, director of marketing, and Jennifer Gigas, vice president of education. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by free champagne and hors d’oeuvres and customers are invited to attend.

Additionally, Kaye England, fabric designer for Wilmington Prints and head of Kaye England Publications, will be offering two sessions at Linda Z’s on grand opening day, including lectures, demonstrations and a trunk show. For a fee of $10, attendees can choose to attend either one or both sessions, which will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Those interested in attending can call (847)394-4590 or visit Linda Z’s to register. Customers can also register on-site the day of the grand opening, space permitting. Separately, Ms. England will also host two days of hands-on sewing seminars at Linda Z’s on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12 for a BERNINA discounted cost of $30 per day. Customers can call the store for information on reservations for these two seminars.

The BERNINA 215 sewing machine, which will be given away on Thursday, November 10, is built with a CB hook system that ensures consistent thread tension and stitch quality. Also, it has a powerful motor which means you can drive the needle through thick and multilayered fabrics with ease. The machine features a sturdy construction, the ability to expand your creativity with a wide range of accessories and is great for traveling.   

The new Linda Z’s location features a large fabric room, a wall full of BERNINA accessories and an extensive thread collection. Linda Z’s also includes two floors of classroom space for all ages, at all levels of expertise and interest. Additionally, five new technician stations have been added at the store’s Service Center for on-premise repair of all sewing machines and vacuums. Linda Z’s original location at 1030 E.
