Cutting out
Create pattern by unrolling lampshade and tracing the outline on paper. Cut out 1 x lampshade.

Instructions
Work the combined embroidery/needle-punch file. Colour 1 is the placement line for the batting. Punch in the batting and embroider the outline on it. Trim excess batting, then embroider colour 4.

Apply crystals. Tip: If you fancy making several identical shades, you can create a template for the crystals with DesignWorks/CrystalWork – then one is sure to turn out as attractive as the other.

Close back seam. Sew a ruffle from the chiffon, finished width 2cm, and  stitch it to the bottom edge with right sides facing. Sew on sequin tape above the ruffle without catching the seam allowance.
Pull shade on lamp and carefully glue down the seam allowances on the inside, or secure by hand with a few stitches.
