Meet Veronika Olivier

BERNINA’s Influencer for the creative sewing machine market!

Veronika Olivier is a multi-disciplinary textile artist, who is constantly exploring new techniques, materials, and styles.

Veronika will be using her BERNINA 735 to prepare postings for her social media platforms. These posts will feature on the BERNINA social platforms as well, so, all creative sewers, follow the BERNINA social media platforms to see what she comes up during her creative sewing sessions.

She has a restless nature, a deep curiosity, and an insatiable desire to create, which drives her to push the boundaries of her art and to continually challenge herself.

She is not content to work in the same style, to repeat herself, or to stick to one medium. Instead, she enjoys exploring a variety of artistic practices, including sculpting and painting, and integrating them into her textile work.

Veronika's art is a reflection of her love of colour, texture, and form, as well as a passion for nature and the world around her. Each piece is a unique expression of her creative vision, often incorporating elements of the unexpected, the playful, and the surreal.

One of her core beliefs as an artist is that we have a responsibility to reduce our impact on the planet. That's why she uses recycled plastics and fibers in her artwork, giving new life to materials that would
otherwise end up in landfills or polluting our oceans.

She takes great care to integrate these materials in a way that is subtle and beautiful, often hidden in plain sight, as she understands that not everyone wants to see such items in the artwork.
Veronika was published in two American coffee table magazines, What Women Create and Where Women Create, and as a result of this was asked to become a contributor for the new creative TV streaming channel in America, Made TV.

The artist says, "Through my art, I hope to inspire others to see the world in a new way, to appreciate the beauty and complexity of the natural world, and to consider their own impact on the planet. I believe that art has the power to create change, to spark conversations, and to transform our world, and I am committed to using my artistic practice to make a positive impact."

She is an avid recycler and loves cooking, reading, sewing, needlecraft, art, and nature. She lives with her husband and their three poodle princesses in Heidelberg Gauteng.
