  • 3. Fold the neck binding in half, wrong side together so that the raw edges meet. Press along the folded edge.

  • 4. Align the binding evenly around the right side of the neck edge. Stitch along the seam line with a 3/8” (1 cm) seam allowance, stretching the binding to fit slightly as you sew.

  • 5. Press the neck binding seam allowance towards the body of your dress.

6. Repeat steps 2 – 4 to make and attach the armhole binding.

  • 7. Fold 2” (5 cm) up along the lower edge of the dress and press. Set your machine for a cover stitch and stitch around the raw edge anchoring the hem. Make sure that both of your machine needles are catching both layers of the fabric. After hemming, trim away excess seam allowance if needed.

Done!

The dress can also be perfectly combined with an airy top.
