Sewing instructions - Bee Coin Purse by Sue O’Very

• Press the Outside pieces to the Batting using the Goddess Sheet or other applique pressing sheet.
• Fuse the scratchy side of the Fusible Batting to each of the wrong sides of the Outside pieces. One is for the Front and the other for the Back.
• Choose the Bee Coin Purse Back design. Insert thread to match or coordinate with fabric. Thread used was (0101) and 60 wt bobbin thread. Insert a new needle. Hoop one piece of Sheer stabilizer.

• Insert hoop into machine and sew Stitch #1, the outside position stitch.
• Place the Back Outside piece right side up covering all stitching. Tape along top and bottom to secure in place.

• Insert hoop into machine and sew Stitch #2, the outside secure stitch.
• With hoop still in machine, sew Stitch #3, the hexagon quilting stitch.
• Place one of the Lining pieces right side facing down covering the stitching. Secure with tape as needed.

• Sew Stitch #4, the top of the coin purse construction stitch.
• Remove hoop from machine and materials from hoop. Cut the stabilizer to match the size of the Back/Lining. With small scissors, make two horizontal cuts into the seam on either side of the stitching.

• Cut around the top curve of the coin purse directly on the outline secure stitching.
• Turn the purse Back right side out with a point turner, smooth out top seam, press.
• Secure all layers, wrong sides touching with pins. Cut directly on the outside secure stitches through all layers. Once finished cutting, remove pins. This is the Back of the coin purse, it will have the shape of the coin purse. Set aside for now.

• Choose the Bee Coin Purse Front design. Hoop second piece of sheer cutaway stabilizer.
• Insert thread to match or coordinate with fabric. Thread used was (0101). Insert hoop into machine and sew Stitch #1, the outside position stitch.
• Place the Front Outside piece right side up covering all stitching. Tape along top and bottom to secure.

• Insert into machine and sew Stitch #2, the outside secure stitch.
• With hoop still in machine, sew Stitch #3, the hexagon quilting stitch.

Time to sew the Bee design!

• Stitch #4: Bee Wings (4073)
• Stitch #5: Bee gold body (0741)
• Stitch #6: Bee body black & words
  "Bee Creative" (1176)

• Place the Front Lining piece right side down over the Front Outside piece. Insert hoop into machine and sew Stitch #7, the top of the front coin purse construction stitch, with fabric matching thread.

• Remove the hoop from the machine and place on a flat surface. Pull the Front Lining open and over to the left, away from the stitching, finger press flat.
• Tuck the Back Outside/Lining under the opening of the Front Lining/ Outside pieces with the Back Lining right side up. Push the top Back into the space as far as it will go. Use a point turner to help feed the Back inside the Front while keeping the Back/Lining smooth and flat.

• Secure the Back Lining/Outside pieces with tape on each curved side. Insert hoop into machine and sew Stitch #8, the bottom secure stitch. This will stitch through the Back Lining and Back Outside through to the Front Outside.

• Remove the hoop and close the Front Lining so the Front Lining is right side together with the Back Lining. Tape on all three sides.
• Insert hoop into machine and sew Stitch #9, the left construction stitch on the coin purse.
• Sew Stitch #10, the right construction stitch on the coin purse.

• Remove hoop from machine and materials from hoop. With 5.5” All Purpose Craft Scissors cut through all layers leaving 1/4” seam allowance around the sides and top. Leave 1/2” seam allowance for the opening (or as much seam allowance as possible).
• Snip into the coin purse at the point where the top and sides meet. Do not cut the stitching. This will be helpful when turning it right side out and pressing.
• Using the EZ Point & Turner to turn the coin purse right side out one time to reveal the lining. Use a point turner to smooth out curves. Press.
• Trim all extra materials in bottom opening seam allowance, however leave as much of the lining pieces as possible. Tuck seam allowance inside and use clips to hold in place, hand stitch closed.
• Turn the coin purse right side out to reveal the outside. Use a point turner to smooth out curves and press.
• Push the top curve of the Back portion up into the Back frame groove and attach the coin frame to the coin purse using a Back Stitch.

• Repeat steps from above to insert Front coin purse into the Front of the coin frame. Use stiletto to help feed the purse into the frame. Use clips to hold in place. Hand stitch with back stitch.
