Quilting Tales - Amanda Jane Ogden

Welcome to Quilting Tales brought to you by Bernina UK.

This is the seventh instalment in an ongoing series of video interviews with quilters who would like to tell their story and share their passion.

Explore the inspiration behind Amanda Jane Ogden's quilt, "A Voice From The Past". Motivated by the woman who taught her how to draw, Amanda honours her teacher in this creative piece. She describes how her drawing leads into sewing and this quilt clearly displays a fluidity between the art forms – as originally a pencil drawing made into embroidery. Amanda explores different techniques such as hand dying silk, chain stitching and hand & machine quilting. From traditional hexagon patchwork to a unique homage to her art teacher…we hope you enjoy Amanda’s tale.
