BERNINA DEALER AROUND THE BLOCK QUILT SHOP IN PORTLAND MICHIGAN SEEKS ITEMS TO DONATE TO WOMEN’S SHELTERS FOR MOTHER’S DAY

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Around the Block, a BERNINA Dealer in Portland, Mich., is collecting personal comfort items to donate as gifts to women’s shelters for Mother’s Day.  The Dealer is accepting an array of goods, such as soaps, hair styling products, shampoos and conditioners, pillows, blankets, slippers and robes at its store, located at 120 Maple St., until Thursday, May 1.  The items will be given to Movers for Moms, a national program that distributes donated articles to women living in shelters as a result of abuse or homelessness.

“We wanted to show our gratitude for everything we have received in our lives by giving back to the community,” said Cathy Norton, who has owned Around the Block for 15 years with Cathy McCann.  “We chose a project that will honor Mother’s Day and recognize the moms who are living in shelters.”
