BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Pine Needles Quilt & Sew, a BERNINA Dealer in Rochester, Minn., is hosting Sewapalooza, a hands-on sewing, embroidery, and quilting workshop featuring BERNINA Educator, Nancy Bednar on Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Ramada Event Center located at 1517 16th St SW. The event costs $99 for both days and includes lunch, a Sewapalooza t-shirt and bumper sticker, project kits, a CD with complete project instructions, a $20 voucher for machine service, a micro vacuum attachment set, and an opportunity to experience BERNINA machines. Attendees will make a trendy, embroidered wristlet, an embellished travel shoe sack using BERNINA’s DesignWorks software, a quilted mini travel pillow, an upcycled t-shirt to backpack using BERNINA’s overlocker/serger set, a suitcase sachet, and a travel cord caddy. BERNINA Educator, Nancy Bednar teaches embroidery, overlocker/serger and machine quilting tips and techniques. Nancy is from Brookfield, Ill., and is a sewing educator, freelance instructor and author, who uncovered her passion for sewing when she explored creative and practical aspects of sewing in elementary school. From garment, home decoration projects to bridal and special occasion sewing, Nancy’s true love is the overlocker/serger. Nancy has trained BERNINA Dealers and consumers about all aspects of sewing with a special emphasis on garment stitching and creative machine techniques. She is a regular contributor to Sewing and Serger Update Newsletters and has been published in Sew News and Through the Needle.
