BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that South Sound Sew & Vac, a BERNINA Dealer in Olympia, Wash., is hosting a Sewapalooza event on Saturday, October 18. The event will take place at the Dealer, located at 365 Cooper Point Road NW, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. BERNINA Educator Betty Stoltenburg will lead event-goers through three projects using embroidery, BERNINA accessories and the BERNINA DesignWorks Software Suite. The cost is $50 and includes use of BERNINA machines, accessories and software, all project supplies, prizes, giveaways, and lunch. BERNINA’s DesignWorks Software Suite is comprised of three components including CutWork, PaintWork, and CrystalWork that turn any embroidery machine into a multimedia tool. With CutWork, shapes, patterns and designs can be cut from multiple layers of fabric. PaintWork allows the application of pen drawings to fabric and textiles. CrystalWork gives the ability to create crystal appliqué patterns for textiles and garments.
BERNINA Educator Betty Stoltenburg is from Portland, Ore. After 25 years of working at Intel, she left to pursue her passion of sewing. Betty loves to sew, digitize, embroider and serge with her BERNINA machines. Since 2012, she has worked part-time at a BERNINA Dealer as a sales associate, an instructor for the BERNINA 7 Series machines and BERNINA Embroidery Software 7, and as co-chair of the All About Embroidery Club.
