BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Seams Like Home Quilt Shoppe is hosting Sewapalooza, hands-on sewing, embroidery, and quilting workshop on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Tanglewood Chalet located at 11701 Brayton Drive in Anchorage. BERNINA Educator Lorraine Wilkins will lead attendees through a variety of projects that focus on machine embroidery and BERNINA’s Embroidery 7 software, quilting and BERNINA’s DesignWorks software tools including PaintWork, CutWork and CrystalWork. The event costs $199 for both days and includes all supplies, a CD with project instructions, lunch, the opportunity to experience BERNINA machines and special pricing on BERNINA machines. BERNINA Educator Lorraine Wilkins, from Bend, Oregon, whose grandmother was a seamstress and grandfather a tailor, began sewing when she was 10 years-old. After taking her first quilt class at a local BERNINA Dealer, and fallen in love with BERNINA machines, she secured a part-time position with BERNINA where educates consumers and artisans.
